Life... with only four letters in the alphabets, speaks volumes to many different individuals. As for us, life is what God has given and what we make out of it in obedience to Jesus Christ! So live life to the full... life is indeed exciting!

When it is windy in Miri...

We experienced rather strong winds last Sunday night. We do get strong winds now and again for the fact that Miri is not sheltered and is open to the South China Sea. Even though we get these winds rather frequently, it still makes me shudder to think of what it can do.

For example, last Sunday, trees were literally uprooted. These are trees with rather shallow root system. Broken branches were strewn across the roads and visibility on the road was rather poor, when it poured as well. The howling winds are not the best sound to hear when travelling in a car at night! A few of my colleagues who were flying in to Miri from KL had to land in Brunei instead of Miri! They spent the night in a different country instead of the comfort of their own homes that night. Just thank God that the plane was not caught up in the strong winds whilst trying to land. Everyone is safe.

Well, perhaps one good thing about strong wind is that it really cools down a hot evening real fast!

Music Video from Natalie Grant

This video clip was introduced to me by my cousin... beautiful song with very meaningful lyrics!

I have removed the video clip but if you still want to watch it, follow this link.

Josh's Birthday Party Bash!

As you can see, I am trying to catch up with my blogging... here are some pictures of Josh's birthday celebration (2 weeks back!) with his friends. He was happy with his many prezzies but most of all, the memory of having celebrated his 4th birthday!

And of course, the mummies and daddies had a good feasting!

One of the hardest words

Saying good bye is always hard. Last Saturday, Josh and Jess had to bid farewell to their Grandma and Grandpa as they left for Kuching. Here are a few pics (not very good quality as I was using my pda then) that depicted the moment.

One thing for sure is that they can always look forward to them coming to visit again.

Family Trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - Part 3

The last part of our family holiday in KK, Sabah... the last of the Sabah trilogy!

Whilst at Kundasang, we visited one of the many nurseries/gardens in the highlands. The one we went to was called Agro Nursery. It has nice rose garden and famous for its cacti. Here are dome of the flowers we managed to catch with our camera.

This pic below s a rare orchid species in Borneo. This nursery also has some very beautiful protected species of wild orchids. Doesn't this one look alien like?

Wondering around the huge nursery, we were met with many different types of flowers; some hanging like curtains....

Some were just growing on the ground with such radiant colours...

The kids love exploring the nursery... so many things to see!

After the nursery, we headed to Kundasang town to buy some fresh highland vegetables. We planned to have them for dinner that night back at our apartment.

On our down the beautiful highlands of Sabah, we stumbled across a Strawberry cafe. It was supposed to serve all things strawberry but to our dismay, the strawberry season had just ended and all they could offer us was strawberry milkshake. It was still delicious though and very refreshing!

After the drink, we headed back to KK itself. Pic below shows the clouds covering the highlands. This is a common sight up here! We drove through the clouds!

The next day, we decided to head to one of the beautiful islands near KK. We went to Manukan Island. It is as enchanting as usual.

The kids had their first speed boat ride! Jess was 'terrified' but Josh enjoyed the 'bumps' during the journey!

Josh was all ready to head to the clear blue sea, whilst Jess loved the sand.

Jess playing in the sand with grandma.

Later, we all had a dip in the sea..

There was a restaurant nearby. Nice isn't it? Loved the cosy setting.

Josh packing it in after playing in the sea and sand the whole morning.

Jess loving the beach!

The last must-not-miss activity on the island for the kids is feeding the fishes session! It's just at the jetty. Josh and Jess were so simply excited at the sight of the fishes swarming around the bread that we tossed into the sea!

Grandpa holding Josh so as he would not fall into the sea!

The last day of our trip was spent around KK itself. We had lunch at this Italain restaurant called Little Italy. It serves very nice italian foods and prices are reasonable. We enjoyed ourselves there. Highly recommended if you are looking for an Italian meal.
