Life... with only four letters in the alphabets, speaks volumes to many different individuals. As for us, life is what God has given and what we make out of it in obedience to Jesus Christ! So live life to the full... life is indeed exciting!

A Wonderful Lunch Meet

Today was a wonderful day. We had a very pleasant surprise when we met my nephew (whom we have not seen since I left for my studies in the UK... gosh, I can't even count it with my fingers... it's that long!), my niece (whom we know is in KL but have yet to meet... until today!) and my cousin (yes, we have met him earlier on... he also works in KL now). Plus, the kids had a blast as their cousins were with them at church this morning. Oh, and coincidentally, my sister was also visiting our church this morning and now have had the opportunity to catch up with the long 'lost' nephew and niece... (not really lost-la... added that to give it more uumph in this post! Ha ha ha!).

We all congregated at Ah Tuan Ee (a nice Nyonya restaurant located at The Curve) for lunch after church. It was good for everyone to catch up with one another.

Let me tell you a bit about my nephew and niece. They are Joshua and Sarah. Now, when we were young-er, we used to be play mates. We always had a good time using our imagination during our play times. Those were good childhood times. Life was worry-less and responsible-less too! The only thing we had to do was to remember all the titles of our uncles and aunties when we used to congregate every Friday night at our cousin's place! Yes, there are like a lot of them!! But it was all good as we showed our respect to them when we call their titles. I guess it is in our family tree that there were big families back then. So, as the oldest marry and have kids, the youngest would just be a few years of age. You can imagine how complicated that can get when the younger ones marry before the older ones and have kids! Nephews and nieces can be almost the same age as their uncles and aunties! This is almost the case with Joshua, Sarah and me. Joshua is now married and number one is on the way. Her wife is not with him now as she is travelling back to the Ukraine to visit her parents. Yup, I have an Ukrainian in our family tree... not to mention an Argentian too (that is for another post)!

Joshua and I were such good friends back then. Now, a lot of people always wondered if I chose my son's name to be the same as my nephew's. Well, to be honest, the number one reason I chose the name was because of its excellent meaning : "Jehovah saves"! I want my son to grow up knowing that God died for Him and loves him dearly. When we chose the name, we always knew that there was also a nephew with that name... and why not, since he is such a great 'kid'.

Chris, our cousin was also with us during lunch. He has been in KL for a number of years now. He has another brother in Kuching who is my age. His brother an I are really close too... more so because of our age. Joshua is younger but he was fun to play with (regardless the age!).

Looking back, we have all gone our separate ways to build our own families and chase our careers. One thing I'm glad that keeps us all together is the fact that we all belong to Christ and remain in Him. We are all bonded together, not just by family ties but even more strongly by the blood of Christ! Hallelujah!

Chris, Joshua and Sarah. (really geram that I did not bring my DSLR camera to capture more and better pictures!)

Big Josh and small Josh!
