Life... with only four letters in the alphabets, speaks volumes to many different individuals. As for us, life is what God has given and what we make out of it in obedience to Jesus Christ! So live life to the full... life is indeed exciting!

A Family Break at Singapore 2006 - Part 1

Ok, here are our Singapore pictures... more to come later! I will keep this post as a picture blog i.e. with very little commentary... enjoy!

Orchard Road
On our first day in Singapore, a stroll along the ever famous Orchard Road was in order... and guess who (what) we met? A 'golden calf' (as my wife described it!). It was actually at the entrance to a restaurant called Marche.

Some nice mosaic pictures of Singapore at the wall.

We had the ever famous ice cream in between wafers or bread... apparently very famous along Orchard Road. It was only $1.00. Very cheap but messy for the kids!

Esplanade : Merlion Statue

In the evening, we went to Marina Square for dinner and ended the evening with a stroll along the esplanade, along the Singapore river.

Picture below is taken outside Marina Square... a staircase of water and water falls!

At the esplanade, we could see the Merlion in all it's grandeur!

Singapore skyline at night.

Singapore Zoo

On the sec2ond day, we headed to Singapore Zoo. Our take on the place? Excellent and fascinating for both adults and kids (Mind you, we have been to zoos in New Zealand and we think the Singapore Zoo is still very impressive!).

The first animals we saw were these parrots (and macau and cockatoo)!

At the zoo, we took the little train at the Children's zoo. Very relaxing albeit 'smelly' when we passed by some farm animals... droppings from the animals-la and depending on where the wind is blowing!).

Josh had the map and he was telling us what he wanted to see.

We saw some 'fake' animals too (statues) like these otters,

the crocodiles...

and these elephants!

Of course, we also saw the real live versions of those animals too!
Of the many animals we saw, we saw hamsters,

white tigers,

crocodiles,

pigmy hippos (it keeps showing us his buttock!),

asian elephants...

ponies,

orang utans (that's not Ah Meng!),

sea lions,

and rhinos!

There were still so many animals at the zoo that we did not manage to see and there are still so many animal photos that I can't put up on this blog! It was a nice day at the zoo although it was a bit hot and when we bought "100 plus", boy! was it ever so refreshingly thirst quenching! Aah..

This is the link to Singapore Zoo : http://www.zoo.com.sg/
