Today's Sunday!
When we arrived in church today for worship, we were surprised to see the Christmas deco still up on stage.
The Christmas lights were still on, including the lights on the pretty Christmas tree!
This reminds me that Christmas is not just to be celebrated for a day but everyday of our lives... that Christ (Saviour) has come to seek and save us from our sins... and we need to spread this good news around us!
After the worship service, we headed off for lunch at Tasty Point II. As the name suggest, this is the second outlet of the restaurant in Miri city. It serves mostly breakfast food e.g. laksa, kolok mee, char sau rice, fried kuey tiaw, etc.. and closes by 2.00pm.
Pic above is a typical set of condiments that we can find on every table... the black sauces in the green and red pointed tip caps are dark and light soy sauce respectively, pepper (green cap with holes), grinded chilli in vinegar and preserved sliced chilli (which was almost empty when we arrived!). The other bottle with the light green cap holds the toothpicks.
This is one of my favourite drinks... lemon tea! As it was a rainy day, I decided to have it hot. Else, it would be good too with ice cubes. Refreshing and yummy!
My wife prefers the lemon drink with "semboi" (type of preserved plum) and lime added to it. This drink is called "tiga masam".
(Oh, the best "tiga masam" drink in my opinion is at a cafe called Cafe Dudok. Must try if you are here in Miri!)
Jessica loves the "mee kolok" (dried noodle) and enjoys feeding herself. She is rather good at it now considering that she is just one and a half years old. What this means to us is that there is less mess to clean up after! :)
Joshua, on the other hand, loves chicken rice... I didn't manage to take the photo before he attacked the steamed chicken. His ritual would be to eat the chicken meat first and leave the rice last! Hence, he would get the, "Eat your rice too, boy" every now and again from my wife and me.
So, my wife decided to have curry chicken rice. She loves curry and all that's Indian (food that is!).
As I was so hungry, I didn't manage to take a photo of my food. :( It was on the special menu that day called "Braised Kicap Chicken". As the name suggested, it was chicken meat braised with dark soy sauce... rather delicious with steamed rice.
